Who we are

Hi, I’m Ben, founder of Windborne.

The first seeds for Windborne were planted when I wore a t-shirt to work that simply said “Raised to Life”. When my coworker saw it she asked: “Raised to life, what’s that supposed to mean?”

And as simple as that, I had a door to a great conversation. All because I wore that shirt.

It got me thinking: if there’s clothing that can spread God’s word, I need to wear more of it!

Windborne was created to do just that: to make the Word of God wearable. If scripture says to praise the Lord, we will make clothing to praise! If it says we are not alone, we will make clothing to remind us so. If it says to spread his word—you guessed it—we’ll make clothing to do so!

The Power of Simplicity

Clothing doesn’t have to be flashy and loud to speak powerfully.

Consider the stars—tiny specs of light in the sky, and yet, the Bible says in Psalm 19 they declare God’s glory!

We hope our hoodies can be the same: simple and humble, yet proclaiming the glory of our God, and the truths of His Word. We carry these truths in our hearts, and with Windborne, we carry it also in what we wear every day!

Rooted in Scripture

Each and every one of our designs starts in the Word. We do our best to translate the truths of the Bible into artistic, yet simple designs–reminders in our everyday lives. To take its themes of hope, praise, love and redemption, and boil them down to something that, in its simplicity, speaks volumes.

Why “Windborne” ?

The name Windborne was inspired by my favourite hymn: “I Feel the Winds of God Today”.

I started this brand in a time of great uncertainty about where God wanted me to go next. All I knew was that He wanted me to do something, and trust he’d work his perfect work through it.

This hymn has always been a reminder of that. Although we cannot always see it, the Holy Spirit guides our steps, moving us forward like the wind in our sails. We are, as Christians, Windborne!
